We’ve come face to face with one of, if not THE, most popular pre workout out there.

Cellucor C4 (Original) is all the rage and everybody’s doing it. Well not everybody, but it’s still the bees knees, at least for most people.

Out there on the Internet are a vast number of C4 pre workout reviews. Today I’m going to provide you with my first hand experience as well as some information pertaining to this supplement.

Let’s learn something!

C4 blasted into the industry back in 2011. Over time, it has grown and become one of the most well-known pre workouts in the business.

There have been over a billion servings sold worldwide! Wow!

Over the years, the formula that comprises C4 has changed on a few separate occasions. This is good news because it shows the company cares for their audience by keeping up to date with the latest and greatest ingredients to ensure you get the best workout.

Oh So Many Flavors

The almighty C4 comes in many unique flavors, and the good news is that most of them actually taste good to even great!

  • Icy Blue Razz (Best)
  • Pink Lemonade
  • Strawberry Margarita
  • Cherry Limeade
  • Green Apple
  • Watermelon
  • Fruit Punch
  • Orange Burst (Worst – I don’t care for orange flavored anything so I may be a bit biased)

So yeah, those are the many flavors of C4. As I have said in my previous guide on taking a pre workout, I really don’t care for fruit punch or orange flavored pre workouts, and that applies to the C4 flavors as well.

Honestly speaking, I truly don’t despise any of the flavors. If you were to come along and buy me a container of C4 Orange Burst, I’d say, “thank you” because free stuff is cool. Plus I’d just down it as quickly as possible because it would still affect me in the same way as the heavenly Icy Blue Razz flavor.

Also, know that these flavors are subject to change every now and then! But at my present time of writing this, these are the current flavors listed.

First Impressions After Opening

Immediately when I opened the container, I was caught with the strong, sweet aroma from the powdered energy inside. Man oh man is this stuff pungent, but don’t get me wrong, it’s a good pungent.Sweet Aroma

After becoming an archaeologist and digging around in the powder for a minute, I was able to excavate the scooper. I was delighted to discover that the scooper is on the smaller side. This is Worker Diggingwonderful news, as I’m programmed to think that a larger scooper means fewer servings and a smaller scooper means more servings. This is false and I shouldn’t think this way, but it’s just the way my brain works.

When mixing the powder with water (warm or cold), it dissolved fairly quickly with minimal sediment (undissolved powder) at the bottom on the glass. Some pre workouts require you to mix much longer or use warm water to fully dissolve. I was pleasantly surprised that this was not the case at all with C4.

C4 Information/Ingredients

On the container, the directions declare you should begin with a single scoop, 4-6 oz of that H2O, and taken 20-30 minutes before you start your workout. After you become accustomed to the product, you can take upwards of two scoops if needed. You see I do know what I’m talking about. See my previous post to get the reference!

Another positive take away is that C4 is only 5 calories per scoop. Yay!

The main ingredients to take notice of on each container of C4 are as follows:

  • Beta Alanine (improved muscle endurance – workout at a high level for longer)
  • Creatine Nitrate (amplified strength – lift heavier weight with more reps)
  • Arginine Alpha Ketoglutarate or AAKG (increased blood/oxygen/nutrient flow to your muscles)
  • Caffeine (1. Energy – the stuff that helps propel your workout; 2. Metabolism booster – helps you lose weight. Who doesn’t love losing weight?)
  • Explosive energy blend (more ENERGY!!!)

Within the explosive energy blend is an ingredient that stood out to me called Theacrine. I wanted to make note of this because Theacrine provides enhanced focus/concentration and reduces fatigue. It’s similar to caffeine in that it is a natural substance (found in certain tea leaves and exotic fruits), but differs in that it doesn’t cause you to crash when its affects wear off.

C4 has an ideal blend of ingredients to give you the optimum workout. No complaints here, as these are the main ingredients to be on the lookout for to ensure you are truly getting the most bang for your buck.

My Humble Opinion

Now we come to the fun part, my thoughts on the product. C4 is definitely up there with one of the most reliable and consistent pre workouts. If you’re selecting a new pre workout and unsure which one to pick, you wouldn’t be in the wrong if you chose C4.

After taking this supplement, I begin to feel the pre workout tingles about 15 minutes later. I noticed that I had a good pump throughout my workout, and after about 45 minutes, I felt like the pre workout was wearing off. Decent.Woman Working Out

When looking for a solid first time pre workout, I would 100% recommend C4 for you, whether you are male or female. It’s a great way to be introduced to the world of pre workouts, and I know you will be satisfied. Oh believe me, I know.

I’ve actually gone through multiple containers of the stuff because it does give me a good pump. Plus I love drinking that heavenly Icy Blue Razz just for fun (I’m kidding).

All jokes aside, I would recommend this for beginners, again male or female, or if you’ve been out of the game for a while and are trying to start back up on your training. Even if you’re more experienced with pre workouts, you could still take this stuff, but you might need a bit more than the single scoop option. Maybe try two!

If you’re the type of person who doesn’t need much energy to get off the couch and get going, then C4 will do the trick in most cases! Remember, everybody is different and the ingredients affect everybody differently.

I will say that C4 isn’t the most high-powered pre workout I have used. There are ones on the market that do indeed provide me with a greater surge of energy. But I’ll say it again because it’s oh so very true; C4 is absolutely one of the most reliable and consistent pre workouts. That’s why I find myself reuniting with this supplement time and time again.

If you want to compare this to a regular cup of coffee, for all you coffee drinkers out there, I would say that C4 definitely provides more energy. Now if we’re getting all technical and talk about espressos and those energy enhancing serums, then I’m lost and can’t converse intelligently about that, sorry.

Cellucor is a first-class company that offers a wide array of products. Like I said, I’ve been using C4 on and off for many years now, and I still can’t think of a major complaint, even to this day. Plus who doesn’t like the name C4? Sounds explosive and high-powered to me!

Best/Worst Features

It’s great how this is an optimum pre workout for anyone at any fitness level. I also really enjoy how there are many flavor options to hit that wide spectrum of taste likes and dislikes in the world.

Nothing really bad, but I did wish it gave me a bit more of an energy surge. I have used many pre workouts throughout my years and on a scale of meh to amazing, it’s sitting in the middle at about average for me.

For someone new to the pre workout game, this shouldn’t be a concern. Go ahead and get some C4 and let me know what you think.

That’s About It…For Now

C4 is the complete package and is a great way to get into the world of pre workouts. I give C4 my stamp of approval. Good job C4!Thumb Up Woman

With the respectable amount of energy provided by this product, along with the great tasting flavors, easy to dissolve powder, and sweet name, C4 is top of the line. No wonder it is America’s #1 selling pre workout. That’s a fact right there ladies and gentlemen!

I know there are many C4 pre workout reviews on the web, so thanks for stopping by and reading mine!
