Steel – it’s strong, reliable, and supportive – just like Steel, the pre workout.

Ah yes, the Steel pre workout. I know what you’re thinking, “it’s his current pre workout so it must be good!” Right you are my friend, right you are.

This is my second stint using Steel, and let me tell you, I have yet to be disappointed. I feel like the Man of SteelMan of Steel when using this pre workout (pun intended).

As you may have guessed, today I’m going to be talking about Steel.

Now this differs a bit because I am currently taking two of the Steel products. Steel Charged AF and Steel Pumped AF.

I know this may raise a few eyebrows, but bear with me and allow me to explain.

Yes I Am Taking Two

By this I mean that I am taking two separate Steel supplements, but they each greatly assist me in different ways.

First off, we have the actual workout enhancer energy blend known as Charged AF. This is your typical pre workout, but believe me, it is far from typical.

The other creation I am using alongside Charged AF is the product called Pumped AF. This one is similar to a swiss army knife in that it provides a multitude of benefits. Pumped AF is all about recovery, stamina, and muscle growth.

When looking for a new pre workout I stumbled across Steel. After doing some research I decided to get the recovery blend to go along with my pre workout since it was highly recommended.

It changed me, and I have yet to look back.

Choose One

There is an abundance of flavors for your Steel pre workout. No I’m kidding, you only have a few to pick from.

The Charged AF flavors are as follows:

  • Peach Mango
  • Strawberry Kiwi
  • Blood Orange

I went out of my comfort zone and tried Peach Mango, and I do enjoy it. The other two flavors I have yet to try. Proceed with caution if you dare venture down those unknown roads.

Long Unknown Road

On the other hand, Pumped AF comes down to only two options. The great news is that both options are berry flavor, and you know how much I like my berries!

They are as follows:

  • Blitz Berry
  • Blue Raspberry

Either way, you can’t go wrong. I have personally tried both flavors and am a fan of what each has to offer. Go ahead and pick one, because whichever path you take, you’ll be standing tall with the W.

Upon First Glance

These two Steel products come in a decent sized container that can fit in the palm of most people’s hands. I for one have big hands, so this was not an issue for me.

The Charged AF scooper is average sized to maybe even being a bit on the larger side. This does tend to scare me for whatever reason, but it’s not the end of the world. I promise, you are still provided with 30 servings at 14 grams per serving. Do not fear!

The Pumped AF scooper is a little smaller. It holds 9.5 grams.

When mixing, there was a bit of powder residue left in the bottom. I have seen worse, so to me this isn’t a huge drawback at all whatsoever.

You may also notice a minimal amount of clumping with these products (mostly Pumped AF) after opening. No need to panic, it’s absolutely normal! This is because they are made with natural ingredients that tend to slightly clump after being exposed to the outside air. It’s just the nature of the product.

The taste for both is solid and I’m sure you’d like it too, especially if you’re a fan of berry flavored pre workouts. Did I mention that I am?

One thing I did notice with Steel is that I was very thirsty after taking these products. I already drink a lot of water as is, but while taking the Steel supplements, I noticed I needed even more water than usual.

This is due to the fact that Pumped AF pulls some of your body’s water directly into your muscles so that they remain hydrated for your workout as well as the post workout recovery process. So drink up, and know that you can almost never have enough water.

Steel Pre Workout Information/Ingredients

Both of these Steel supplements are stimulant free. This means that there are no added ingredients that excite/speed up the nervous system.

Stimulants could potentially cause a loss of appetite, increased heart rate, and agitate your sleep cycle. That’s stimulants in a nutshell, but no need to worry about that with Charged AF or Pumped AF.

The main ingredients to take note of in Charged AF are:

  • L-Citrulline (fuels your muscles with nutrients needed to train harder and get in more reps)
  • Beta Alanine (reduces fatigue so you can workout for longer)
  • N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine or NAT (keep you in the zone while performing your exercise)
  • Caffeine Anhydrous (supplies you with that needed energy)
  • Higenamine (chemical in plants used for improved performance and weight loss)
  • N-Phenylacetyl-L-prolylglycine ethyl ester (wow what a mouth full!) or NOOPEPT (heightened perception and focus)
  • Yohimbine HCL (supports blood flow throughout the body and prevents exhaustion)
  • Huperzine (increases alertness and energy)(FUN FACT: also improves your memory!)

The main ingredients in Pumped AF are the following:

  • Sodium Chloride (needed to maintain electrolyte balance within your body)
  • HydroMax Glycerol Powder (hydrates the muscles and amplifies endurance)
  • Beta-Vulgaris or Beet Root Extract (enhanced stamina, increased blood flow, and lower blood pressure)
  • Kre-Alkalyn (aids in muscle growth as well as muscle repair)

As you can see, there are a LOT of important ingredients in both these supplements, all of which are extremely beneficial.

This also isn’t strictly for people only trying to gain muscle by lifting weights. Steel is made to reach a wide range of athletes who are looking to increase their workout performance, while also advancing the recovery/muscle growth process.

Any male or female who is a runner, powerlifter, swimmer, or involved in CrossFit, can take these supplements, and the list goes on! These can be used for basically any type of physical activity.

Women Fitness Class

Both of these Steel products are free of any banned substances, so there is no need to fret. Keep your mind at ease.

Besides, I wouldn’t even consume a pre workout with a banned substance included, as that is not my cup of tea. Drugs are bad boys and girls – don’t do them!

How to Begin

First off, let’s go over Charged AF.

For men it is recommended that you start out with a half scoop. If you are new to the world of pre workouts, then it may be best to begin with a quarter scoop or somewhere in between.

Whatever the case may be, be sure to ease into it. Like I said, this stuff has a strong affect on me.

Everybody is different and affected in different ways from these products, but the majority of people I’ve talked to and read about say that Steel is the real deal. So act accordingly.

Yes, women can also take this product, but it is highly recommended that you use a quarter scoop to access your tolerance. Once your body becomes accustomed, you can begin to increase the amount over time.

This is great news for all you women out there, as this pre workout will last you nearly twice as long, if not longer. You lucky duck you! I’m jealous.

Now we move on to Pumped AF.

I would recommend you begin with half a scoop, whether you are male or female. Access how your body reacts and then you can go from there.

In some cases, you may only need to take half a scoop to feel a difference in your muscle’s revitalization. In others, you may want to work your way up to taking a full scoop.

Bear in mind; stay hydrated throughout your workout because you will get thirsty!

My Thoughts and Opinions

As I previously said, this is my second time taking these Steel products. Even to this day I get a great pump.

Quite often your body can become accustomed to a pre workout, and it might not give you the same quality pump as day one. I haven’t had that be the case when using Steel.

I don’t plan on using this one and only pre workout for the rest of my life, as too much of anything is never good. I would most likely become habituated with Steel if used too often. Currently speaking, it works like a charm.

I would propose you take the Pumped AF blend at the same time you take your Charged AF drink. This way you ensure your muscles are being tended to during your workout.

When taking a scoop of Charged AF, I began to feel the effects in under 10 minutes. Another 5 to 10 minutes later and I was energized and ready to hit the gym, and hit it hard. Definitely on the faster side in regard to how quick this pre workout kicks in.

Consume both products about 15-20 minutes prior to your training.

I was amped throughout my entire workout and felt like I was able to go the extra mile! The energy buzz stayed with me for about an hour and a half. This was more than enough time to get in a complete workout.

Like I’ve stated, the Pumped AF concoction aids in muscle and body recovery/growth as well as improved stamina during your workout.

I did in fact notice that I wasn’t as sore on days when I overachieved and went above and beyond. Legs and chest days weren’t nearly as terrible the next day when I took Pumped AF during my workout.

Side note – don’t skip leg days! They’re those things you constantly use and walk around with. You want to ensure your legs remain strong and in ideal shape so they can continue supporting you as you become older.

Remember, friends don’t let friends skip leg day, and Pumped AF is there to act as your friend by lessening the blow during and post workout. OK, leg rant is over now.

Best/Worst Features

Charged AF is perhaps the most energizing pre workout I have ever used. It also gives me a superb pump throughout my workout routine.

I feel like I can workout for long periods of time while remaining focused and strengthened for the duration of my training. Can’t say that about every pre workout on the market.

The Pumped AF recovery blend is an ideal companion to go along with Charged AF. I never really was one to take muscle recovery/growth drinks, but this formula changed my mind about that.

Pumped AF exceeded my expectations for muscle revival. I can truly feel and see a difference in my body post workout. Moving forward things will never be the same.

Both products could use some more flavors, especially for those of you who do not like berries. But come on now, who doesn’t like berries?

This may also be a bit too much energy for a first timer. Not for the faint of heart. Then again, maybe that’s the way you want to begin, with full steam ahead.

Just consider easing into these supplements, and I know you’ll have a fantastic workout.

Overall, these Steel products are an optimal pre workout. I can give them nothing but praise.

Remember, your Steel pre workout packs a punch! Start off with under a full scoop and work your way up if needed. I can’t stress this enough! You’ll also get more servings out of the container when taking less than a full scoop, which is a nice little bonus.

What else can I say? This stuff is great. Who doesn’t want to feel like a superhero in the gym? Steel is definitely the real deal!
